SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 4

This week for Get Messy Season of Color I created a page based on a beautiful landscape I experienced. This is not so unsual for me. I often create pages that are influenced by what I did the day or week rarely month before. The is the habbit from my visual journal experience. Or maybe gouache sketchbook.

The yellow flower is the cactus I recently saw in a pot in NYC. It was so big and so bright. Dark sand color is the color of mud I was digging in last week looking for Herkimer Diamonds. There are lined diamonds there as well made with ball pen. The dark grey background stands for the Twin Peaks episode 8 that I watched a week ago. I was very impressed by the whole episode which had a lot of images of black and grey moving up and down. Very arthouse.

COLLAB JOURNAL

I'm so happy to present the collaboration journal with Jules (Julia Cusworth). I adore her felt pen, ink, collage style. There is always so much power in her pages.

Look at the pictures she took of our journal (and see the difference to the ones I take :) She is also a master of digital editing!

Check out Julia's Pen + Ink Class that was released through Get Messy Artjournal.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 3

This week I tried to go out of my way and use less colors. It wasn't easy but I love the result.

Sunprinting, collage, gouache, ink, glitter, ball pen.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 2

I believe that color can affect my mood. Every time I wear pink I feel like a little girl. Whenever I'm in black I feel more sophisticated or came out of office! Color is a big game whether it's home decor, clothes or a sketch. I think the same sketch can feel differently depending on the paper color. Colors bring about emotional reactions to people.

This week I was trying to mix summer shades that will represent happy, carefree mood.

I came up with this. This is a story of my day trip to the beach. Some pink flowers on the way there. Blue sky. Bright green is a lovely place I had lunch in. And sand!

SKETCHBOOK MAY

Here is another sketchbook.  Mixed media and collage. My favourite colors of this spring and beginning of summer are violet, purple, neon yellow.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 1

I'm back for the Season of Clor of Get Messy Artjournal. I took a break for about 3 months. I never took a break from drawing, sketching, painting and exploring art.

For this week I created a few pages with my recently favourite colors. Purple, violet, neon yellow.
