GOUACHE LEFTOVERS

I absolutely love using gouache srtaight from tubes. I mix colors on a palette and sometimes I have some paint left. I decided to make a little journal for this. It contains little painting made only with the palette gouache leftovers.

HOW SHE CREATES PODCAST

I was lucky to take part in a great project called How She Creates. I got to talk with Caylee and Roxanne about artjournaling.

You can listen to it HERE.

WEEK 6 OF SEASON OF GIFTS

Here's my final page for the Season of Gifts for Get Messy Artjournal.

I wanted to add my little nephew's dragon drawing to my page. This represents the exact moment in my life. This is where I stand now. At the top of the mountain and enjoying the view hoping to feel even better. I'm content and happy. This is the gift of life.

SEASON OF GIFTS WEEK 5

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
– Pablo Picasso

I have a gift of having friends. Meeting with friends, talking, listening, giving them lifts, going to see them is something that I treasure in my life. Obviously it comes with time and life experience and you get to appricaite people you have in your life more.

I definately met and keep meeting new people through Get Messy Artjournal. This is one of the reasons I love the community so much.

Cait is an artist I met through Get Messy. Her work mesmerized me and I knew I wanted to see her work in artjournals or just meet or share a collab journal. This is what we've been doing for the past few months. Sending our collab journal back and forth.

I loved the tutorial she shared this week and here are some of my morning pages. I'm definately going to deepen this morning practice of doing art. But first I need a fancy candle!!!

INTUITIVE PAINTING

I've been painting on plywood and paper.

SKETCHBOOK DECEMBER 2016

I love sketchbooks. For me it's kind of like a daily or weekly journal with things that happen in my life. Here's my third sketchbook. This one is December 2016.

It has cardboard covers from a sneaker box and there are two signatures inside. I used Canson Mixed Media paper which is perfect for gouache. It is super smooth. It also holds watercolors and is not see through.

I also took a great sketchbook workshop this month by Graham Smith, an amazing illustrator. This workshop inspired me to try out sketching faces and make more customized sketchbooks!
