PAINTING

These are my latest creations.

SEASON OF CONNECTIONS 5

This was influenced by Stranger Things 2 and 80s comics.

SEASON OF CONNECTIONS WEEKS 3 & 4

These weeks have been going so fast. I've neglected my art time due to a lot of time spent with friends. All of a sudden I feel like I have more people around me, new acquintances, new connections.

These changes definately influence my art. Every time I sit down in front of my artjournal, I end up being completely carried away with my creative process. I feel like I go deeper in the flow even though I never have any particular idea beforehand. This is truely a micarle for me.

My way of putting art onto paper has changed with time. I don't feel any bounderies to what I can use or not. I mix mediums, I mix ideas, I put layers over layers, I cut and paste. I absolutely love it and it feels like I'm connecting with myself.

I do yoga and meditation regularly as well. I give myself time to relax and not do anything. I think I approach more things with a wabi sabi look on things. Nothing is perfect and there's beauty in this.

COLLABORATION JOURNAL

I was so happy and inspired to create a collab journal with Vanessa. She has such a profound artjournaling style. I've always looked up to her work. Also we are sharing one big love called GLITTER!

SEASON OF CONNECTIONS WEEKS 1 & 2

It's so amazing how many people with the same interest are around me. How the universe attracts them and how much fun it is.

I received a copy of Brush Magazine. This is a magazine created by Tanyalee. She is an Australian artist whose work I saw 2 years ago. Through her work I found out what artjournaling was.

2 years later I submit my own little painting for her magazine.

ALL WEEKS FAIRY TALES

SEASON OF FAIRY TALES WEEK 6

Last week of Season of Getmessy. I created a page influenced by a movie Woodshock. It is a story of a woman who is going though hard time. The movie is about her emotions and her thoughts about life and death.

SEASON OF FAIRY TALES 4 & 5 WEEK

I decided to stick with the bird theme for this season of Fairy Tales for getmessy.

Here is The Raven by Brothers Grimm.

And then comes a prince. There's always a prince that saves a girl. I'm not sure if I like this idea of being saved. But handsome prince is a must. In a fairy tale!

Something bad that you always need to conquer.

SEASON OF FAIRY TALES WEEK 3

This Season of Fairy Tales brings so many memories of childhood to me. I was surprised at how many tales I remember. This week I was thinking about a Russain tale The Scarlet Flower by Aksakov. It's an adoptation of Beauty and the Beast written in 1858.

SEASON OF FAIRY TALES WEEK 1&2

Here are my pages for the first and second weeks of the new season of Getmessy Artjournal of Fairy Tales.

First week is my all time favorite tale of bluebird. The bird of happiness.

Second week is my take on Pushkin tale of Tsar Saltan. I loved listening to my grandmother reading it to me when I was a kid.

SKETCHBOOK

Another visual journal is finished. This was a bigger size and I loved working in it. Most of the pages are influenced by places and things I saw.

                                       Here is VIDEO,

CANVAS PAINTING

I'm not a bit fan of canvas painting. I prefer plywood for bigger sizes outside of sketchbooks. This is what I created using all sorts of mediums.

SUMMER COLORS

Another summer page in my artjournal. Lately I've been using a lot of watercolor felt pens and glitter. The miscellaneous images on the page come from the previous weekend in Massachusettes in a camp. Such a great and fun experience!

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 6

"I do not grow old
I simply feel more wild
with the need to dance"

This is the final week of Season of Color.

I was creating a lot of pastel/neon pages. One of the pages I made was just black. I used all black mediums I had. I couldn't help adding some colorful birds later.

I was also inspired by meeting Cait who is so very artistic and an amazing mexid media artist. I decided to make little holes in the pages because I absolutely love how Cait adds them to her art.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 5

This week for Get Messy Season of Color I created a page based on another beautiful landscape I experienced lately. I also liked Emmykait tutorial about shades and hues so I incorporated black and white.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 4

This week for Get Messy Season of Color I created a page based on a beautiful landscape I experienced. This is not so unsual for me. I often create pages that are influenced by what I did the day or week rarely month before. The is the habbit from my visual journal experience. Or maybe gouache sketchbook.

The yellow flower is the cactus I recently saw in a pot in NYC. It was so big and so bright. Dark sand color is the color of mud I was digging in last week looking for Herkimer Diamonds. There are lined diamonds there as well made with ball pen. The dark grey background stands for the Twin Peaks episode 8 that I watched a week ago. I was very impressed by the whole episode which had a lot of images of black and grey moving up and down. Very arthouse.

COLLAB JOURNAL

I'm so happy to present the collaboration journal with Jules (Julia Cusworth). I adore her felt pen, ink, collage style. There is always so much power in her pages.

Look at the pictures she took of our journal (and see the difference to the ones I take :) She is also a master of digital editing!

Check out Julia's Pen + Ink Class that was released through Get Messy Artjournal.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 3

This week I tried to go out of my way and use less colors. It wasn't easy but I love the result.

Sunprinting, collage, gouache, ink, glitter, ball pen.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 2

I believe that color can affect my mood. Every time I wear pink I feel like a little girl. Whenever I'm in black I feel more sophisticated or came out of office! Color is a big game whether it's home decor, clothes or a sketch. I think the same sketch can feel differently depending on the paper color. Colors bring about emotional reactions to people.

This week I was trying to mix summer shades that will represent happy, carefree mood.

I came up with this. This is a story of my day trip to the beach. Some pink flowers on the way there. Blue sky. Bright green is a lovely place I had lunch in. And sand!

SKETCHBOOK MAY

Here is another sketchbook.  Mixed media and collage. My favourite colors of this spring and beginning of summer are violet, purple, neon yellow.

SEASON OF COLOR WEEK 1

I'm back for the Season of Clor of Get Messy Artjournal. I took a break for about 3 months. I never took a break from drawing, sketching, painting and exploring art.

For this week I created a few pages with my recently favourite colors. Purple, violet, neon yellow.

TRAVEL JOURNAL CALIFORNIA

I knew it'd be great! The whole journey through California. I wanted to make a journal that would keep not memories of places but feelings I had during my trip. That's why I didn't keep any track of dates and places I visited. Also I just didn't have time to journal.

I made time to sit down and mix my colors. Most of the journay I was overwhelmed and tired so I needed that time to process the process!

This is the journal I made for the trip. It's mostly recycled stuff. Cardboard cover, pink envelope, craft envelopes, random envelopes for stickers, postcards etc. There are 2 signatures. One is black Canson paper, another one is white.

COLLAB JOURNAL

I love taking part in collaboration journal projects. This time Vanessa and I decided to start one journal each and then send it to one another. We're going to add more to journals we recieved and then send them back so we can keep one.

I made a little journal and filled the pages with color. I can't wait to see what it turns out to be!

I tried to make painting with a limited number of paints. First one was created with 4 colors. Second one with just one and glitter on top of petals. It some previous layers and bleeded through when I used glitter. I like the look of it.
